Draft — requires legal review before publication

This document is a working draft prepared by the Thumbora team. It has not yet been reviewed by a lawyer and may change. Company details marked “[to be filled]” will be added before launch.

This policy explains how Thumbora, operated by [to be filled], uses cookies and similar technologies, such as browser storage, on 4thumb.com.

1.What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies, such as local storage, keep information in your browser in a similar way. Some of them are required for the site to work; others are optional.

2.Essential cookies

These are always on, because the Service can’t work without them:

Essential cookies
NamePurposeDuration
thumbora.session_tokenKeeps you signed in. It is HttpOnly, so page scripts can’t read it.Up to 30 days, extended while you use the Service
other thumbora.* cookiesShort-lived technical cookies used during sign-in, for example the security state of Google sign-inSession or minutes
NEXT_LOCALERemembers the interface language you chose1 year
thumbora_consentStores your cookie choice: “all” or “essential”180 days

On secure connections the names of sign-in cookies may start with the “__Secure-” prefix.

3.Preferences in browser storage

Browser storage
NamePurposeDuration
thumbora-theme (local storage)Remembers the light, dark or system themeUntil you clear your browser data

4.Analytics (optional)

If you choose “Allow analytics”, we record first-party usage events — for example, that the pricing page was viewed — in our own database. We don’t use Google Analytics, advertising cookies or third-party trackers, and analytics events contain no images, names or email addresses.

If you choose “Essential only”, no analytics events are recorded for you while you are signed out. Signed-in users can also manage analytics in their account settings.

5.Third-party pages

When you pay, you are taken to WayForPay’s payment page; when you sign in with Google, to Google. These services set their own cookies under their own policies.

6.Managing your choice

You can change your choice at any time with the Cookie settings link in the site footer. You can also delete or block cookies in your browser settings, but if you block essential cookies you won’t be able to sign in.
