AI thumbnail editor
Most thumbnails are almost right on the first try. AI editing fixes the rest: describe the change in a sentence and get a new version — no masks, no layers.
What you can change with an instruction
| Task | Example instruction |
|---|---|
| Background | “Replace the background with a dark city at night” |
| Text color or wording | “Make the headline yellow” · “Change the text to ‘4K TEST’” |
| Composition | “Move the text to the right side and make the subject bigger” |
| Lighting and mood | “Make the lighting warmer, like at sunset” |
| Objects | “Add a red arrow pointing at the device” · “Remove the logo in the corner” |
| Expression or pose | “Make the person look surprised” |
How AI editing works in Thumbora
- Open a version in your project and choose AI edit.
- Write one clear instruction. The cost in credits is shown before you start.
- Thumbora sends the image and your instruction to the model and saves the result as a new version linked to the original.
- Compare the two versions. If you don’t like the edit, the original is still there.
If an edit fails, its credits are returned automatically.
Writing instructions that work
- One change at a time. Two or three small edits in a row are more reliable than one long instruction.
- Say what should stay. “Keep the face and the text, replace only the background.”
- Be concrete. “Warm orange light from the left” works better than “make it nicer”.
- Quote exact text. Put the words you want in quotes and check the spelling in the result.
AI edit, variations or the editor?
| Tool | When to use it |
|---|---|
| AI edit | You know exactly what to change in the image itself. |
| Variations | You like the direction but want to see alternatives. |
| Editor | You need exact text, a logo or precise placement. |
Limitations to know
An AI edit regenerates the image, so small details outside the requested change can shift slightly, and faces may change more than you expect. That’s why every edit is a separate version you can compare. For exact typography, use text layers in the editor.
Questions
Does an AI edit overwrite my image?
No. Each edit creates a new version; earlier versions stay in the project.
Can I edit a thumbnail I made somewhere else?
Yes, if you have the rights to it: upload it in Redesign mode to rebuild it, or add it to the editor as an image layer.
Why did the face change after an edit?
The model regenerates the image to apply your instruction. Add “keep the face unchanged” to the instruction, or generate with an identity profile to anchor the likeness.
