Make a thumbnail from your photo

Putting yourself on the thumbnail helps viewers recognize your channel. With an identity profile, Thumbora uses your photos as references so the person on the generated thumbnail looks like you.

Demo composition drawn in code by the Thumbora team — not an AI generation.

How it works

You create an identity profile — a named set of a few photos of one person. When you generate in Photo mode, those photos are sent to the model as references together with your idea, for example “shocked expression, pointing at a glowing PC”.

The model keeps the likeness as closely as it can. It’s good, but not perfect: hairstyle, age or face shape can drift, so check each result and generate a few options.

Photos that give the best results

  • Clear and sharp, taken in good light — daylight from a window works well.
  • Face fully visible: no sunglasses, no hands or hair covering it.
  • Different angles: one frontal, one or two slightly turned.
  • A plain background and no other people in the frame.
  • Your current look — if you changed your hair or beard, use recent photos.
  • JPG, PNG or WebP. Metadata such as location is removed on upload.

Getting the expression right

Describe the emotion and the pose in the idea: “laughing with eyes closed”, “skeptical, one eyebrow raised”, “pointing to the right at the product”. Strong, readable emotions work better at small sizes than subtle ones.

From photo to final file

  1. Create a profile and upload a few photos.
  2. Start a project in Photo mode, choose the profile and describe the scene.
  3. Generate several options and compare likeness and expression.
  4. Fine-tune with an AI edit (“make the smile bigger”) or in the editor.
  5. Export a 1280×720 JPG for YouTube.

Questions

Will the result look exactly like me?

Close, but not always exact. The model preserves the likeness as closely as it can; generate a few options and choose the most accurate one.

Can I make a thumbnail with a friend or a guest?

Yes, if they gave you explicit permission to use their photos. You confirm consent for every face upload.

Are my photos used to train AI?

Thumbora doesn’t use your photos to train models. They are stored privately and sent to the AI provider only to process your generations. The Privacy Policy has the details.
